Roberta Gambarini, Eric Jackson and Fred Taylor at Scullers

It was lovely to hear Roberta Gambarini sing at Scullers last night. Jake really liked her voice--said she reminded him of Rosemary Clooney. He traveled and recorded with her from 2006 to 2009. Her 2009 album, So in Love, was nominated for a Grammy.

Roberta holds the book I wrote and wears the
swirly scarf I knit her.
My hands sure do stay busy!
Eric Jackson broadcast live from Scullers
last night.  He was kind enough to write a
 "cover blurb"for the book

Fred Taylor has been booking talent into
Boston clubs for  ... a long, long time!

Final Edits are Finished!

I'm happy to report that I've completed the final edits and the manuscript is now with the designer who is beginning her part of the production process.

We had a grand total of 189 contributors who shared their stories, memories and tributes to Jake. It's funny, touching, hilarious and has something for everyone.

Gar Whaley, my publisher, told me that he had two reactions after he read the manuscript. The first was that he was sorry he never met Jake Hanna. The second was that he now felt like he knew him. That's exactly the reaction I was hoping for, so I'm delighted he felt that way.

We've hit 100!

100 contributors, that is.

I'm still waiting to hear from about 30 more.

The book is coming along very nicely.
